Yes. All members of the "Spirit of Houston" Cougar Marching Band, in good standing, with proper attendance, participation and conduct throughout the year, will receive a Band Grant.  There is no application process.   Traditionally, freshman receive a minimum of $250.00 in the Fall (pending completion of Fall requirements such as Football Games, the Veteran’s Day Parade, and the Bowl Game) and $250.00 in the Spring (pending completion of Spring requirements such as the MLK Parades and the Rodeo Parade).  This amount typically increases each year that you participate in the program, as well as with additional responsibilities, such as appointment to Section Leader or Drum Major.  Amounts are subject to change based on availability of funding from year to year.

Any student admitted to the University of Houston Main Campus, regardless of their major/area of study. The student must remain in good academic standing to continue participation.
