Drumline Audition Information-
All students must audition for the drumline every year. Auditions for the 2024/2025 drumline are by video and due by Monday July 8. Please view the packet below:
Please record all excerpts for your instrument in a straight through video. Make sure your hands, body, and face are all clearly visible as well as the instrument/pad you are using.

All students (including returning and new music majors) will audition for the drumline every year. Due to equipment limitations and the amount of returning members, there are limited spots available on the Spirit of Houston Drumline: 10-12 snares, 5-7 tenors, 6 bass drums, and 10-12 cymbals. The Spirit of Houston does not have a front ensemble. This means that positions on the line have the potential to be extremely competitive. The BEST way to give yourself the greatest chance to make the drumline is to be willing and prepared to audition on more than one instrument. For example, someone who auditions for snare, bass and snare will have a much better chance at making a spot somewhere on the line than someone who auditions solely for snare.
We strongly encourage ALL new members to send in audition videos for more than one instrument if they feel comfortable. Students should not be concerned if you have primarily played one instrument only, as this is to gauge any possibilities for movement and filling out the line.
